  • D-stock Merc Super Thunderbolt for sale

    Merc 400H 44 cubic inch "Super Thunderbolt". It's a 100% mechanically perfect overhaul. Details:
    Parts walnut shell blasted, cleaned, and inspected before overhaul.
    Low time standard bore MK58A block with new centerline pin 1604 lightweight pistons
    Cylinders true-honed and new Mercury piston rings installed.
    Big ends honed +.002" to allow oil clearance for the .882" crank pins.
    Crank is a beautiful twin row center roller, large taper, no marks.
    All reciprocating assemblies mix/match balanced within 1/10 gram.
    New top & bottom crankshaft ball bearings and seals.
    New Mercury Racing fiber reeds on low time MK55H bronze cages.
    New mag tower & magneto ball bearings, timing belt, Merc points and condenser.
    KA-21A Tillotson carbs with full butterfly's and fresh Merc rebuild kits.
    Fuel pump rebuilt with new Merc diaphram and check valves, hoses.
    New gearcase bearings and seals, excellent gears, smooth .005" lash.
    Square top (reduction) manual starter completely rebuilt with NOS rope.
    MK55H flywheel, plus MK58E flywheel, starter, solenoid, and harness.
    MK55H mid section & clamps cleaned, inspected, painted; zero cracks.
    Appx. 5 hours total running time since overhaul includes prop testing & Top-O
    This engine starts and runs perfectly, and pushed the Summer Daze to a 4th place at Top-O 2013. $3500 + shipping.

      Not to worry, sure do...... Will be testing two different engines soon. I plan a full marathon season, and look especially forward to Top-O!
