I think Doc had 4 motors that he would loan out at the race site . one motor was Modified at Mercury. Doc never would tell what was done to it. I built Doc a Sorensen J/A shovel nose boat and my Son Matt ran it at Depue with the Hot motor. We were running faster with the Merc than with our OMC. Keller speed was 57mph. Of course he won. The motors had Numbers on the cowling 1 thru 4. Wonder what ever happened to the Boat and Motors after Doc Passed away.

Bill, This was Doc's engine #1. There are two more engine that were converted to Methanol. Those two are Loop-Gooped up. Susan, Matt Yarno & I ran these in the mid 80's as well when Doc would come up to Yelm.
The engine listed is a "Gasser".
