        "Better" depends on what the owner is comfortable with. I like Mercosil because if the cylinders wear beyond specifications, I can bore it oversize and use it again. The chrome bore blocks are more expensive to fix than to replace. They end up as aluminum scrap when damaged.

        The chrome bores were probably more durable and could get a light hone and ring job several times without machine work.

          tom, if come to performance.which one do u prefer?some say mercosil make more power.i just wonder which block most of the 25xs racer are using.

            Boat setup and driver skill far outweigh any performance advantage of on block over the other. The difference between the is insignificant.
