  • Vintage Konig Heads WTB

    I am doing up a 'wall-hanger', 4carb, 3rd port, Konig VC65,
    ex; Chuck Simon
I need a set of 8 stud heads, not the square ones that came later.
Anything that looks right will do
It is not destined to run.[did they ever ?]

Tim Chance bought my converted 4 carb 500 Konig, he may or not have parts to sell. The heads on this engine had smooth outer surfaces.

That's right! ........Senior moment. The Zak Heads where better than Konig I'm sure.
Did you get that engine back together Tim?

Not sure what the ZAK heads looked like,
but the OEM ones must be flat surface like this pic?
-but then, the later VCs had a cast head indented
          around the plug hole;
Either will do, so long as I get a matched pair

I can always cut up some 3/4" Al,
drill the stud holes, and tap in 2 plug holes

Bill: Motor is a work in progress. Putting a "Tin Can" muffler on it that I got from Steve Litzell for when it goes into the museum.

Brian: I think I may be able to get the heads of my old 4-carb D, the smooth ones like in your top photo. Might take a phone call or two and a couple of days. But I think they are still around.

              I have one........

Like in the first pic, only it's from a VD, you're welcome to it Brian.

BTW......the engine in the 2nd pic looks very familiar!

This is an old one I got from somewhere, probably in a box of parts or something.

As for the pic, that's my old Simon VB in pic 2, as for the Tibetan fertility goddess, I ain't saying!

BTW--Do you know who owns that engine now Brian? I still have alot of notes from Simon that went with it when I bought it from Doug Thompson.

I need a set of coils for an early VC. The ones I have look like they were run over by a truck

                        Sam:

Either post or PM me with a photo of what you have now. I have some Konig coils but am not sure what you are looking for as several models were used.

Thanks to this site, and the good people on it, I have my two heads,
one in Toronto, the other in SC , both 'no charge'
but we all know that really means 'future considerations' .

I was offered a ten stud Konig head. Never saw one....
                          Off a VD ?? Konny ??
                          -the 30" 2 cyl C motor?

Jeff; -if the VB u say was the one at the late John Portes auction,
-it went west, IL ?, for a good price, to ????

Sam; -dual output Kohler 17hp coils look much like the ones Konig used,
but not quite the same dims

                            Good Morning Brian:

That's the one! I sold (donated ) it to John Porter.

Always wondered where it went after that. Sam posted some pics of it a few years ago on BRF, and now the pic you posted is a different one.
