Our experience with the rubber grip surfaces on gloves is that they heat up in the sun and get all gooey on steering wheels. Probably not a good thing to have in super hot sunny weather races.....

We used to offer gloves with grip surfaces on them and dropped them for this very reason.

Our team has found the knit gloves are great for changing propellers, however to use as a driving glove they are to slippery. It would be great if an "inbetween" product could be developed. I wonder if the full rubber palm ones have a problem with gasoline? We have never had a problem with heat.

Perhaps a knit glove with dots of rubber? They used to make (for us regular folk) a knit glove with dots called "Magic Finger Gloves" they worked great when working horses where the leather reins get damp/wet with sweat and became hard to hang on to with knit winter gloves.

I have no problem with the socks think everyone should have a pair of kevlar socks when racing. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I think gloves are great too; but, they aren't safe if you can't hang on to the steering wheel and the rubber coated ones are pretty cheap even if you had to replace them every race.

Gloves

The gloves and socks are both great. All you have to do with the gloves is put them on and run a bead of silicone rubber up and down each finger and around in the palm, let it dry and you will have a pair of gloves with great grip and protection.
thanks Pat for the great products! The summers are 95 degrees here and never had a problem with the silicone rubber getting gooey.
