Another thing needed to be said Pro's have 3 major engine Mfgers. All three are working on improving and they are improving every day sooooo hang on as the Alkies are here to stay and are allowed to go faster and all designs will.

Just another note Deiter was working on Detachable cylinders before his demise .

How do I know I have seen one.

          Konig detachable cylinders

So did a lot of other PRO Racers. He marketed a detachable cylinder, horizonally opposed two cylinder 250 here in the US and around the world for several years before his death, and a number of racers were successful with them, including some USTS regulars, now and then. They were a regular production engine, not a "one off".

ADD: I believe, but not absolutely sure they also had nikisil cylinders.

              250 Konig

The 2 cylinder Konig with removable cylinders did not have nicosil cylinders, they were cast iron, I know because I bought Danny Kirts motor and my son, Mark, raced it for several years and I replaced one of the sleeves in it. I have also seen pictures of the 4 cylinder 500 with removable cylinders that Dieter was working on.

Dan Kirts had the 250cc twin at Depue in the 90's and was super fast with it at that time. Melvin Cooper Sr. was supposed to get one as well but something happened to his order.....
