2 Person Mod Runabout

Does anyone know what year and why they did away with this class at the nationals. It was a crowd pleaser back in the early 80's in the Northeast. Can it be reserected again as a legitamit class in APBA? What steps would have to be taken to bring it back? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

It was ran in 1987 at the Mod Nationals in El Dorado, Kansas..
My Uncle Bob was the deck rider for Bob Montoya.
The next 4 years,,, the Mod Nationals went to Mountain Home,
Arkansas,, but I can not remember it that class was ran.
Get ahold of Rick Montoya in Washington.. He should know.
