Yes it is Larry has only the 2 intake plates like the 500s do , I found the original cowel cover said it was a merc 400

Jeff the Merc 400 is a 44 ci motor.

I also have small pin 44 pistons (used but servicable) and rods, $125 for a set of pistons 4 and $100 for 4 rods

It may be a 40 ci motor with the wrong cowling. The Mercury book says the Merc 400 is 44 ci.
