Deb needs pistons for her 20H (20CI)..........What will it take to git a batch of these made in Std/.015/.030......there is a need.....Last set of 030's I bought on E-bay I fist-fought for and paid $325 !!!!

Also anyone have a going rate to re sleeve cyls?
There's enough hacked up 20H cyls out there to keep a shop busy.
Few more 20H's might come off display racks to run A-MOD if pistons are avail?

probably an order of 100 at $100 each ... the math isn't hard

The going rate on resleeves is about $110 plus machine time for porting ... not bad

At $110 & $100 ... there's no reason to pay $325 for pistons like you did for a while, you and 2 other guys were pretty crazy for those parts for a while .... then prices went back down.

If I were doing a 20" twin, I would sleeve it to 2-9/16" and solve the piston availabiity issue. But then you woud not be legal for Amod, or would you?
I also wonder if one could bore a 20" +070", and cut a 2-9/16" piston
down .050" ? Limits would be the thin port bridges, and thin skirts on the pistons.

Sam, you forgot about the $6500 forging die needed before the first order can be produced. But you're correct about the 100 piston minimum for the entreprenuer............ Dave Scott was in discussion with Wiseco this fall. Don't know where the project stands. Problem is most of those blocks are already at +.030". In Detroit area sleeves are $175 each installed plus porting, plus pistons at $100 each. So, you're looking at appx $650 plus two way freight to ressurrect a wrung out B-stock.

yes my plans are to make .020 and .040 over pistons for 20-40-60CI motors. I had posted pricing last year, I would have to revisit, these would be the same as the 44 slugs I had made a while back. I have had four people show interest in them in a year.

The BTO Build to order is still sitting on the desk to go ahead with the order, I would have to revisit for current pricing. I am not going to sit on 200 pistons like i did with the 44's. so if we can get a list going I would consider going ahead with the order.

100 pistons min is the break point for decent pricing and that is 100 of .020 and 100 of .040's not 100 total. 8 weeks is the lead time for the pistons. The die is already to go as it stands now I did that last year with them.

            regards,

            Dave

Didn't Dave just tell us how long it took him to sell the last batch? Wiesco doesn't like doing batches that small, nor waiting that long to sell such a small number of pistons.

                    Ralph,

They would be two ring pistons, same as the 44 small pins I made, rings would be available from any wiseco dealer in the nation (special order) I am sure as the pistons can only be purchased from me. You could also use STD 44 wiseco rings "WINK WINK"

PS - Call me I have some more disty parts I have been collecting for ya, I have been cleanin up and putting all that stuff in a box for you. I would like to get it to you before I close down for the holidays.

                    rgds,

                    Dave
