Dick Fickett is one of a kind. He and Mickey were two of the neatest people ever in Stock Outboarding. While in college i spent several weekends in his basement watching him weld up Fickett gastanks at 3am!!

He was such a great welder/fabricator, Bob Sharp- Paul Newman Racing offered him a blank check to join the race car team and work for them! Dick choose to be a good dad and husband in lieu of the traveling!

I believe Dick came up with the idea of those clamp brackets. They stopped the motor from coming off the transom if the engine came loose and moved up.

              Precisely why I bought them!

I've been seeing too many engines coming loose and walking their way up the motor board lately. Shoot; I've seen this happen three times this past season alone! Even though I wrench my engines on to "gorilla tightness" I want to have that added bit of insurance.

I believe Lee Tietze ( machined components) and Portage Bay ( Steve Greaves) both carry these transom brackets in their inventory! Just not as old!!
