i need the bolt pattern specs for mounting a yamato 302 lower unit to a yamato pro tower. i have a blank cav plate from dudley malone to work with. i've been told jim mckean may have this posted somewhere out here. can anyone guide me?
well the engine got here fine but the boat is having problems leaving kansas, the plan hit a glitch. so it's back to square one. jack stotts is helping me find a ride for the boat to an east coast race or to the depue nationals. i can get it home from there. is anyone heading to the depue nationals or to an east coast race? please let jack or myself know.
well after finally gatting the boat and motor i was off to loch haven for a weekend of racing. it was a weekend of firsts, but first place wasn't one of them. had my first tire blow off the trailer on the way up. looked like the tire junk you see the tractor trailer drivers leave on the road. first time i wasn't able to get on plane. well this is what testing is for, but i happened to do that at the race when the 5 min gun went off. you see i got the boat 5pm on friday on the way to the race. first time i ever sank in a boat. i gotta remember NOT to get back in the boat before it goes on plane. i seem to remember the transoms were higher in the 70's. i have made a mental note. first time in 35 years i dried out an engine, however i had help and lots of it, even bob goller was there helping. i did get to take a test run after the races on saturday and i did do 2 laps and did get on plane. and today i get get on plane and finish the race. for the first time. and that makes it all worth while.
thanks vernon for all your help getting everything from point a to point b.
