  • Wanted: Parker Mid for Merc 650 (4cyl)

Pete DeLackner's Ricochet R7 has been restored (now the C7) but I'd like to build a 650 like the original in attached picture. I need the Parker Mid-section. Would also be interested in a filler block and pipes for this motor. Please call Roger Hinsdale 423-452-0428 or email hinsdale at bellsouth.net

That is the same bolt pattern as a 6 ... so to most people you are looking for a Jim Parker tower for a 6 & Super Speedmaster.

Phil McDaniel might have a filler block for you

Thanks Sam, Wasn't sure about that. I've got a SSM, do you suspect that is the gearcase they would have run under a 650 in that era?

There are some 12" pitch Super Speedmaster props out there, but they are pretty hard to find

Jim Parker's short tower came out after the SSM, so it would be a toss up whether you used a single or dual pinion Speedmaster ... I would say it depends on finding props and which shaft they fit ... or altering the shaft to fit the prop

I think Jeff Lewis has some altered SSM prop shafts

No, that's why I included the first name ... Jim Parker is a different Parker. Tim does not have any of that tooling.

              Bonneville

Though it may not be exactly the same as shown on the boat, you could also use a Bonneville short tower. Had a 12" up till a year ago - Jeff Ettinger has it now. Cool project, good luck Roger!
