  • Lake racer for sale

Here is a lake racer with a large gas tank and ready for fun. It comes with a trailer unlicensed and the boat in the pictures. A mark 58 powerhead with electric start. This motor was being used on this lake racer. It also comes with a 55h tower with clamps. No gear foot is provided. The tower is in great condition and has had a some welding to make it stronger. They welded a brace but the tower was not broken...??? Why do people do these things? I do not have a picture of the motor here but I can provide before purchase. I will take pay pal so you can use a credit card.

I would like to get $800 for this and I can help deliver it and find a foot for the new owner.

Do you know the history of this Bezoat? If so, what is its story?

Could be that the tower is actually a 30H tower and they knew it would eventually crack using it as a 55H

Sam, Is there a difference other than the drill pattern for the gearfoot?....My 30H tower looks like it could be drilled for a D foot.....Also my 25XS tower for a 44XS foot?

Learned the hard way at 2005 Mod Nats that the old 20H towers are pretty thin!

Was this a former Sweeny rig?

This boat was Pat Filkill's from Canton,OH.......was run with a 55-H so that
will give you some idea of the age (can't remember when the 44's came in). I ran the boat once testing......was my only ride in a D hydro.

                  the motor

Note these are not the best pictures... my sister took them with here phone. I was told and I looked there is nothing wrong with the tower it has a thrust socket on it and the motor is ready to start. It just needs a foot.

Also note the swinging mag setup it is cool.

They are made from the same casting which is machined differently.

The 30H front stud is closer to the drive shaft, so the notch machined in the tower to access the nut is deeper. This doesn't weaken the tower if it is used with the 30H foot, but if you drill a 30H tower to fit a 55H foot, the deeper than necessary notch sometimes starts a crack running diagonally away from its back corner.

There are a lot of 30H cut towers out there because of the large number of decomissioned 30H's that weren't sold in 1959.

I don't know if a brace welded on the back like this one would help. I did not understand where the brace was welded on. This still might have been done back in the 60's if this tower was used with a Quincy Looper, just to stiffen it up.
