Picky, Picky

This may sound like I'm being picky but I'm trying to be helpful. I believe the correct spelling of the brand of boat for sale is Arltralite, named after its builder Matt Arlt. If so, you want people to know they're buying the "real deal".

Also, find out from your friend if this is one of the earlier mold boats or whether this was built later. For some folks this makes a difference and each side will argue one model is better than the other.

Personally, I believe a white-colored, Arltralite CSH mold boat is the fastest of them all.

Matt and I are pretty good friends and I spent a lot of time a few years ago at his shop when he was custom building Blair's SST-60 tunnel. During that time I saw Matt build 4 hydros; a CSH, C Mod, BSH, and a FEH and one C Mod Runabout when he wasn't working on the tunnel or a 5 liter hydro or something. Matt honed his trade working with Jamie Auld (another pioneer and innovator of safety cells for inboard hydros). Jamie even worked with Bernie Little and the Miss Bud team. Matt was not building many molded boats anymore, instead he was strictly building panel boats with rounded sponson tips for safety (that was 5 years ago)! Ross Webster has one of Matt's 20SSH panel boats...nice rig. In the end the rising cost of oil and carbon fiber made his full carbon panel boats very expensive to build and he couldn't sell enough of them (at a decent profit) to carry his shop, rent and racing so he gave it up (reluctantly). Hopefully, one day he will get back into boat building because he was an innovator and a quality builder.

I wouldn't sell my panel boat for anything. Without a doubt the fastest accelerating boat I have ever driven. Now that she has been tamed down a little, (see avatar) she is a great ride. We named her, "Just Plain Snotty" and that was a perfect name.
