Looking for good nose cone option to install on Y standard foot. Any good ideas, good suggestions or knowledge of new stuff out there? Let me know.
Thanks,
All depends on how high you want to run and how much water you want to get to your powerhead. All those quick-fix nose cones have the water inlet pretty high. Run really jacked up with a 4 blade prop and especially if you're running kicked in and have a boat that runs free in the back and watch your temps. Nothing like making your own nose cone out of epoxy and putting the water inlet down where the skeg and main gearcase body intersect and running a copper tube inside the case up to the top mounting surface. Water can exit out the top or through the side.
That 4.25" might be good enough for who it is for but that's still 1/4 inch higher than ours and farther forward as well which effectively makes it even higher when you consider most gearcases are somewhat kicked in and the boat is riding at a 4-6 degree angle of attack. To each his own!
