He has a complete, fresh gearcase assembled by Steckbauer and shaped by Schmerbach for sale right now. He posted this several weeks ago here and I don't believe it has been sold yet.

Bearing cone threads...

Nick- If memory serves me, (it sometimes does) Alan Ackerstrom had perfected a method of repairing the rear bearing cone threads in Merc D housings. He mills the entire threaded section away. Then welds a brand new thread section into the housing. After blending, the repair work is nearly completley invisible.
