Are you referring to the spring loaded contact in the cap? The part number is 394-1056A1 and is currently available from a merc dealer. I also have a mag cover that attaches to the mag housing and the cap attaches to it, brand new for sale. End Cap Assy 394-1577A2, fits all Kiek mags, make offer.
Anyone price a rotor, 394-2602A1 for a Kiek mag lately? They are $403.42!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Last edited by ricochet112; 07-27-2008, 10:48 AM.

rotor botton
Hi ricochet112;
Between the mag cover that covers the mag housing and the cap that the plug wires are attached is the rotor botton which slide onto the main shaft much like the rotor botton on most distributors!! I have several mags and all the splines in the roror bottons are getting wornout and would like to get my hands on some before the nationals in Whitney Point!!

I have a used one I'd sell for $40.00, Priority Mail should have it to you by Thursday. The splines are good, the tip has some wear. PM me with your contact info and I could e-mail you some pictures of it first. I could do VISA over the phone.

Taking the rotors off and on will make the splines bad before long. What we do is to bore the middle cap out so the rotor can come thru the cap without being removed. Harry O'Brien did this years ago. Also this keeps you from taking off the cap with the plug wires evertime you want to get to the points. You can glue the rotor on the shaft or put a little bit of plastic (like garbage bag) on the shaft before you press on the rotor to tighten it up. This has always worked for us.

Brian nothing changes with regards to water entering the mag. All you need is to enlarge the hole in the center cap (where the spline sticks thru) big enough for the rotor to come thru so you don't need to remove it each time you want to clean or set the points. Just take loose the 4 screws and lift off the both caps together. I open this hole up in a lathe but you can use a die grinder etc.
