Rod that e-mail address is not working for either of my e-mail accounts. Did you write it correctly? To get the carbon off of the motor parts, use hot soapy water for what you can, and a damp cloth for stuff that can't get real wet. Bar Keeper's Friend will work for any real tough burnt on stuff. Mix in just enough water to make a paste and then let it fester on the area for about 5 min. Should come right off. If it still doesn't come off, well then I'm pretty out of ideas. We can all gather around your trailer and instead of figuring out what the clouds look like, we'll look at the burn spots.

Good luck and I hope you didn't lose anything too important.

You can try Easy Off oven cleaner to get the baked on stuff off should work just fine but try a sample piece first to make sure it wont hurt the Aluminum. Its the only thing I found to get the burnt on pitch off of saw blades before shapening them.

Shucks Rod, I can't think of a better use for H.R. than this!

Rachel, The Email address is good. You just need to take out the space between the dot and com.

Shoot Rod, hydro racer is the only way some of us learn whats happening . easy off should work, but if you have some "peels plus" try it.

                      Dishwasher!

Take engine apart, load parts in your dishwasher, add soap, slam the door, and hit to go switch. I've cleaned outboard and motorcycle engines in the dishwasher - works great!

Hint: After you're done, load soap in the dishwasher and run a cycle empty to get rid of leftover engine spooge. If you fail to do this, you will soon hear a shriek from the kitchen when SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) cracks the dishwasher door open. Been there, done that, still suffer from PTSS after the verbal shriek-fest that ensued

                        Doh !

Dammit anywayz Rodney ! WTF ?! at least no one got hurt!

Food fer thought...Maybe you wanna switch racing careers with me since this mishap? (GoCarting?) Well Im thinkin about it anyway...

Had a mishap of my own testing at Ocoee! I think maybe I put super-glue into my throttle cable instead of regular Lube: Throttle got stuck open as I entered a dead end channel!
                        Yes, I said DEAD END.....

Ive got only a few 58 parts to donate to youz, okay?

                          Snow Boots

When he kicked off his snow boots it must have come undone. You should never race in snow boots! I wish I was there to see it! I guess he stepped out of the boat at 80!

I beleive its very possible that I didnt leave enough "slack" in the kill switch line, underneath & inside the motor cover... Maybe pulled loose when I turned, or got in boat. I dunno.
Too much damage to motor to really verify. After draggin it out saw kill switch unplugged. Also saw throttle cable clamp was off w/inside wire still secure. Broke starter housing completly off and cowling in half too
