you need to list where you are from and get in touch with a local club and some local racers, they will steer you in the right direction.

            Q's, need help?

            Canboat,
To Bill's point, you'll get much more relevant info if you provide details of where you are, specs on boat, which will determine best fit for power. I'm assuming if 'Northern Ontario', you're still South of James Bay.
Just hoping to put 'anything' on it, you're more likely to waste $ and not get potential/fun out of hull. Help us help you.
Give me a call/drop a line, glad to help get you on water.

Canboat, there are 2 CDN race sites close to you:
                - Waterford, 1.5hrs fr Grimsby, 2 races/Yr, Jun and Oct. Last race of the 2010 season is Oct 2-3, next weekend. Potluck dinner Sat night.
                - Dunnville, <1hr fr Grimsby, mid-Aug.
Have you previouisly been to either?

We have 2 veteran racers that live in Grimsby; I could hook you up, and am sure they would be pleased to provide guidance.

Definitely come to Waterford race next weekend, either day. If you have kids, bring along!
Must bring your boat if you can. You will get all the right/different advice and can decide for yourself what suits your boat/budget/interest. You'll have all winter to search for equipment, get more advice, prep rig for next season. If you just want to use the boat for lake/cottage w/o race motor, we'll help there as well.
Also, you should visit the CDN Boating Federation(CBF) website and forum( http://cbf.hyperboards.com/ ), for further insight(race topics/updates/classifieds) re the CDN/Ont outboard racing scene.

                Give me a call/email.

Good to hear you're coming, bring your boat along. Bill has lots of expereience,... which boat did Dad buy?...wil he race it next year?
If interested, best seat ito watch a race is to do corner turnboat/safety duty. Introduce yourself to us when you get there.
                      Cheers,

I have a 25xs for sale in Maine. Comes with 2 extra pull starters, cone tool and bearing greaser for the cone bearings.

                            Right engine - answered

                            Canboat,
Getting advice from Paul Price on the hull/engine is A-1, and he'll take your inquiries. You can differ from 25XS, but ask Paul pro/con's of going off purpose built spec(eg: transom ht). There will be several veteran 25XS racers at WF(eg: Brian Rossman, others) that can also provide guidance.
