  • looking to get back into boat racing!

I used to race outboards when I was a young pup and now am interested in getting back into it. I am 5'11", 195lbs and am wondering what would be a good class for someone my size? I am interested in hydro's. Also, what kind of money am I looking at for a boat, motor and everything to race? I used to race J runabouts '80-'82. I can only imagine how things have changed since then! lol!

Thanks in advance for any info you can give me!

Theres a couple of threads on buy and sell in the florida area. C stock Hyrdo most popular. You could get a used rig on here for good prices. Look around and private message some of the guys. If your buying new, well i started racing in the late 80's and dont compare prices from back then. Things are a lot more then back then, but still one of the cheaper sports to be involve in.
Great Looking rig from DougMC listed under buy and sell from Fla.

Doug's stuff is great but the Yamato 202 is not a legal C motor in APBA.

Call me at 850-559-1986. I'm about an hour from you in Tallahassee.

If your serious about getting into CSH, I'd be willing to talk about selling my best and last 102 with the rig as opposed to the 202.

          I have a two boat trailer, a 102, a 202, a TeCraft and a RunneCraft.

Also, Phil's rig is front running. It is a good deal as a turnkey rig. His gear should come very close to fitting you.

Bob Wartinger also has just listed several 102's. He's had some really fast motors over the years. https://hydroracer.net/forums/showthread.php?t=17939

                      Candyman and Hydro Phil,

I was talking with a friend, and here is another option for you:

                      06 RunneCraft CSH/20SSH/OSY hull
Yamato 102 (One of Ron Selewach's motors)
                      Hill prop reworked by Pinner
2 Boat trailer with new tires and wood box

                      Total turnkey: $3,300

Candyman and Hydro Phil - Either of you can take it for a ride at this month's Lake Placid, FL race. Take it home if you like the way it looks, competes and runs, and I will car top my other rig home on the Jeep. If not, you at least got a ride and a chance to have some fun.

That's the most consistent way to acquiring new racers, let them go for a ride in the good stuff! Kudos to DougMC
