    Propeller guards

If you look close you will see propeller guards on the motors. Propapbly will slow the top speed down by at least 5 mph. But sure a lot safer in that type of racing.

          sign me up!!!!!!!!!!!!

thats the way slt's should be raced they were made for rough water!I dont understand why we run them in a flat water circle here when we have the whole east coast to play in. Think of the crowds you could get beach racing and the sponsers too.I dont know how many slts are around here(I,m in georgia) but they should try this ,I would race this class for sure if they beach raced! stock boats with stock (factory available!!!!!!) 50 hp motors.how easy is that!I would love to here some input from current slt drivers here in the us. mike

Talk about fun! I honestly feel this is one of the main problems facing Stock Outboards today. With all the rules policy and parity groups its almost impossible to have fun anymore. This is a 50 hp motor you can by at any corner marine add a helmet and life jacket and your set! pick up your buddy on the way to the beach and go for it!

Or go to a Stock Outboard race and spend the whole day watching 3 boat heats from sunrise to sunset. Patrol boat changes wreck delays etc..

Which one would you rather attend ?

Face it guys our program sucks and its boring! 16 classes of racing with no announcer for two days straight.

              Beach vs. closed course racing

While SLT, beach racing, looks like a lot of fun for both competitor and spectator a-like, Stock Outboard/Mod/Pro racing are beasts of a different nature. Each has its place. Close course racing, on flat water, is a much more evolved and refined form of racing for certain types of people. Yes, it can be boring to watch but drivers keep coming back. I doubt we will ever see the growth of the 50s and 60s. There are too many other forms of turn-key boat racing; SLT, PWC etc., out there for the new racer. Outboard racing will never see its hayday, of the 50s, again. It has become something very different.
