Robert West won the K PRO class in 1989. They were using the Mercury 10XS engine then. Not accepted by the Stock Commission, the PRO's adapted it and started the K PRO class the year before as probational.
The other class I beleive to be Novice 350, a combination of different engines basically based on the Yamato 80 model as well as others. The winner looks like Gerry Rosenboom.

And to think Gerry went on to buy a Pro 350 and then we bought it years later. Gerry also had a hot rod for a long time as well

Also that was Michele Goldstone and her mom BarBara in the pits next to Bob and RJ at the end of the race. I still can see her going through the Kilos when it was at Modesto Res.
