    Not Surprising

This is cool, but not surprising. Boat racing anywhere in the world and with any kind of boat is fun.

Hey Dale, How you doin' ?

Hey Dean, doing really good. You should be in racing shape by now, yes? This Thailand stuff is great, stumbled onto it by accident. Check out the Website too Patrick posted, I went through it too. It's not everyday that I see a form of boat racing that I haven't seen.

You are right about all racing being fun, I was around racing from birth, and enjoy every kind of boat racing. When I retire in about 7 years we are coming back to the Northwest at least during Winters. I plan to take some time, like all summer and make up for all the racing I have missed (spectator).

Nice to hear from both of you guys!

              Longtail Boats

Longtail boats are plentiful on the Andaman Sea. You will see an occasional
twin V-6 outboard cat but the longtails are the appropriate technology-cheap and speedy. I went to one of the Andaman Islands on my way back home from a work assignment and had a wonderful time. My longtail boat "captain" dropped me off on one side of the island even though my rental cabin was on the other side of the island. mysteriously a motorcycle appeared to transport me to the other side of the island-for a fee. The ride was worth the fare. A high speed Bhuddhist Baja run to my hut.
Anyone up for an 1100 cc. methanol Longtail? These guys are fearless.

What Kevlar: D these are third world countries they don’t give a **** about getting hurt or sued so what’s the point? they dont have medical insurance and are probably better off

This is what happen to the last guy who got hurt:

No safety measures are taken or considered. This weekend resulted in one serious injury when a mechanic testing a boat drove it full speed into the pier. He was pulled out of the water unconscious with deep wounds to his head. After being rushed to hospital in the back of a pickup truck (normal) it was later found out he had been drinking heavily all morning and was only just able to stagger into the boat to test the engine.
