    Race Schools

    Then I got thinking as I was prepping for teaching a racer school this weekend it might make a good tool to help in teaching. So I made a version without all the sponsor ads and text... https://youtu.be/MD_67KVSky0

    Anyone or school is welcome to use it if they think it might be of use to them. No action in it, and only recorded data at 1hz... but it is a 6 boat 302SSH field and shows sighting lap, where I'm going, speeds, the flags, milling, lots of shoulder checks, start clock, etc... The only error I would call for teaching with the video, is I don't turn right going out of the pits to reduce wakes... too many boats to my right.

    I think you can download from youtube... but if anyone wants a copy sent via Google Drive or something, just let me know.

    To add, racing this class was a blast! I won the first heat, second the next. It felt the same as 20SSH, but maybe not pushing the boat to edge of control. It didn't feel like a big A, it felt like a 20SSH. And thanks to the APBA Historical Society and Stock Outboard Promotional Fund and Jeff Brewster for making the opportunity for me to try the class out.

        Thanks Dennis, it cool what you can do with your cellphone these days. At 1hz, it's no good for serious info, but a fun toy.

        DAQ Android app: RaceChrono
        Camera: Midland XTC280 set to 60 frames and 720p mounted with www.RAMmount.com
        Combined and made pretty with RaceRender software on PC laptop.

          that is really cool how you did that video.
          we watched you from the shore take that win. The boat looked great and it definitely was a Class to watch

            Thanks Chuck. Nice to meet you there too. Hope to get back maybe in the fall to Kingston... a great bunch of people at these races. Can maybe bring an ASR and ASH too.
