I'm all for a AOF Kilo run. Why don't you try to get SLORA (Stateline Outboard Racing Association), or even SPUD'S club to put it on in Washington State. Count me in, I'll be there.

Hi Guys,
I am excited you are thinking about a straightaways record run. Actually, the records in AOF are now on the 1/4 mile instead of the kilo. (not that I could tell the difference). And ALL the records are now up for grabs as we keep them in the record books for ten years and then they are retired. We have a sophisticated laser set up for this purpose, however John Snell is working on doing this with GPS's. Seems like a good idea to me. He is working out the bugs.
Also, of note, the AOF 3 mile (one mile oval course with 3 laps) is also just about all up for new records. A one day 3 mile course and a one day 1/4 mile woeuld surely be a plus.
AOF natioanls are going to be in Pineville, LA in October 9-10 on Columbus day weekend. (Postmen know these things). No records as the clubs didn't want to do that. We swapped dates with Title Series. Should also be a fun time.

BTW Toeknee, good job on picking the date for the AOF Nationals... There are 5 weekends in October. I am off 3 of those weekends. You picked 1 of the 2 weekends that I'm working.

I don't think a one day straightaway is a very good idea. Need to have it both days. Takes a long time to run everyone through the traps if you get any kind of turn out at all. Only one day would probably end up with some people not getting a shot at making a run. No way anyone could get 2 runs in in one day if more than just a few boats show up.
