Never mind the fact that he almost runs the guy over once he his thrown off the cowl. They seem to do this all the time in Europe so I guess its not frown upon.

I thought the first photo was the best. Look how high the prop is in the air. Kind of reminds me of those bucking mechanical bulls in the bars.

The water conditions are even worse at the post-race parade laps, so this does happen! Lots of boats running at slow speeds creating big wakes. The post-race "victory" laps are a big part of the show at Rouen. Every sponsor wants their flag displayed during that time, so each boat that can gets out on the water. Common sense and the Good Lord seem to protect most of them.
