Southern Maryland Boat Club Summer Regatta 8/8/2015

This is an official sanction for (OPC) Vintage. I'm guessing this will be a lot of "show and tell" and "fly-bys" with very little actual racing. Does anyone know any different?

Who else is going?

I remember going to an APBA - Southern MD Boat Club OPC race in the early '70's before I got into racing. But I already had been bitten by the kneel-down bug. Instead of getting a brand new ready-to-race OPC boat and engine combo from Roostertail Marine -- only 15 minutes away from my house -- I started the arduous process of piecing together a Merc KG4 which had been manufactured before I was even born.

hey mark,

a few years ago weren't stock and mods going to do a joint race there with the vintage opc's? what ever happened?

are you going to loch haven this year?

Mark these events are sanctioned by the APBA and are legitimate races for vintages race craft. The course is set up just like any other race and yes they do race. Its a whole lot more then just fly by stuff.

It must be like any other race since I can't find a schedule of events anywhere! I plan on going just to see what's up even though I was never a club member and I never raced OPC.
