I wish I could have been there to see Mr. Sherlock and those guys running the beautiful vintage boats! I bet the sound of those engines running was amazing! I look forward to seeing a vintage race soon. Really takes me back to when I was a young man and got to see a couple of them race in Miami!

      High Point racing

I was there in High Point to watch them. They did look really cool and the sound was just like the old days when I watched them as a boy in Raleigh in the 70's.

On another note, the APR racing last weekend was very good to watch! Both classes put on a super show, and once I went up through the crowd and sort of took in the facial expressions to get a feel for the spectator enthusiasm. it was awesome, I saw pure delight on most faces, with comments like "he's gonna get him this time you watch" , etc.

      This race has taken off!

Was there for the race. When the vintage guys were on the water for their demonstration, it was neat. Especially the sound of the red E-81 as he pretty much turned his boat loose. Made the hair on my arms stick up!

The crowd was dissapointing on saturday, maybe the treat of rain (30%) kept some away. Sunday was better and when I walked up to the hill to watch some of the 60's run, I thought everybody looked like they were getting into the races.

Good safe racing...a super spectator viewing area...the race was well run and facilities were all in place. Overall... a great place. Hope they have us back next year and it just gets better!
