Here is what I know. The whole 2010 Burley Regatta missed our Nostalgia class, period. Boat count was down and more than 3 folks asked where we were! Later that summer the promoters and APBA inboard folks were sipping R o C cola (cheaper than the real thing) and wondered how they could get us back.
For me, it was a loss of extra funds and a boat sale. How about you?
Lets post who is interested especially if tow money may tip your thinking!!

If I can get my ugly, broken, no motor boat done, I'm in. Could someone kindly tell me when the FIRST race is, and what I have to do to join this group of hooligan outlaws? I kinda like the thought of racin' this old tub.

I'm reasonably certain that I should have pistons for the motor by July.

I have two problems My driver said he can't go to Burley, go figure? and the boat is not done yet, I am pretty sure the boat will be done by the end if June, and I know way to Burley. I will working on the driver
The other problem is that will be racing 3 weeks in a row, Tasting, Banks lake,
and Burley!. ouch, I need a sponcer!

Mel, if it takes till July a full 6 months away, for pistons, your engine combination is way too ratical and probably too expensive, as we all know small block pistons are stocked in mass quantities almost everywhere even in Spokane.
Now, is the time to think, Spring Test Time!!!
Surely you can hit the water before me!
Also beware of impending compression rules that could possibly apply for APBA in the coming year. That being 10-1 as the Southern boaters have discussed in length. Did you see them posted? A possible North-South competition show down is being discussed for Burley.

So if memory serves, and you had 11-1 with closed chamber heads, you could bolt on the iron open chambers and be right at 10! That's how we plan on doing it.

Thanx for the info Boyd. I ordered 11:1 pistons and they sent me pistons for the 5.7" rods. I have 6" rods and the correct pistons are apparently not a stocked item so JE is cutting what I need (1cc dome) at no extra cost to me except time. I'm still waiting...

As for the iron head idea? That would be a waste of some expensive aluminum heads that I have already purchased. Maybe I should have gone with that old pickup engine on craigslist, but that didn't seem like much fun. We'll see how the rules shake out and adjust our game then. For now, I'll just build a fun boat and hope to race with you guys sometime. Good news...the v-drive is finally together.

Geek? you out there? What do you think? should have the boat going by mid May, we can get you on the course at Tastin, 3 week before the big one! you can come down and test every weekend you want. On the best lake not circle raced on the the northwest!
