George was definitely the K-Boat "Man to beat" in 87 and 88, the last two years he raced with Richard and Samma Thompsons' "Rolling Thunder II" K-190.
George was pictured before in this thread winning the Miami Nationals in 1987 driving the Thompson boat. I was fortunate enough to be standing right next to them in the Marine Stadium as George won the National Title. FYI...Gordon Jennings in K-290 "Blue Thunder" and Duff Daily in K-999 "Oh Mona" crashed out in qualifying heats. Picture of Sat. Finals before both boats crashed out with the maroon K-130 "Minuteman" an Advantage hull Owned and driven by Mike Knutz who was the KRR High Point Champion of 1986.
    Oh the great memories.....

      Thanks

Love the info AZ! You probably know GN drives all over the US and uses many of his cell minute passing time with old racers while driving, I think you surely qualify. PM me if you would like his number.

Injector hat is on backwards to keep water out (hopefully) my friend broke a 540 crankshaft naturally aspirated tunnel ram with 2 dominator carbs when he stuffed the nose & got a gulp of water into engine. Scoop has been on backwards ever since!!!

            Sad news

George is not planning on running the same schedule as last year, only a couple boat races with SS70 and then back to stock cars! I guess you can only be absent from behind the wheel for so long! Nostalgia loss for sure! In case you hadnt heard the E66R boat was too damaged to fix and now someones wall hanging!
