Two Revenge at this 1978 race

Dago Red (Ray Cuppoletti) a new Revenge from Jimmies Marine (Goetel) as seen on the lower left. And K-8 middle right was one of the former 'Epidemic' of Bob Goetel Revenge b-boats in attemdance at this Haystack Race. And George burned down trying to steal their 800! His SS225 is lower right with black tape to make one of the S a K or SK.
Nordlings drag race speed (they obviously ran both circles and drags) was 86.78 at 13.514 ET!
My wife used to drag race her Lavey and broke out of the 13 second class with a 12.78 et!

Top photo is one of my favorite shots of George after winning the APBA Inboard Nationals at Miami Marine Stadium in 1987! Pictured is the K-190 "Rolling Thunder II" a Daytona Hull of Richard and Samma Thompson out of Santa Ana, CA driven by the "one armed bandit" George Nordling

Bottom photo is of George Driving the white K-200 "Mr. Parts" and the black K-34 next to George was "Valkyrie" a Revenge Hull, owner/driver was Chuck Kraft out of Bakersfield, CA at the Burley Idaho Regatta in 1985.

                  Great

shots AZ.........I met Chuck on the phone way back when I was promoting this deal up here and he told me some of his story but then at Phoenix (thanks Jimmie for the ride there) I met him and TWO of his Krrs. That's when John Hart and Craig Kinnaman (Tony driver) restarted the open cockpit Ks. Could be others involved as well, I dont know. George introduced me to Chuck and I was impressed with his do or die attitude at (age of 70s?). Come on, anyone put two Krrs on the road in competition? They had a few tuning problems but how many Ks back in the day didnt?? Blown alcohol makes a body work!

Keep posting! Racers and friends for life! Win, Paul, Bill, and George

How about 1985, Bob Long and Butch Jensen rolled into the Puddingstone, CA. pits with not one, but two, fully rigged K-Boats...The K-211 "America" and the K-216 The Black "America II". I remember helping out on my fathers PC boat when Bob rolled in the pits that morning. This 13 year old kid at the time couldn't wait to grab his camera for the unveiling!

Nice shots, K200 seemed a little late on the start and the down peddle. Earlier in the year He said he left the Thompson K190 team to drive this lighter K200 boat so I guess there werent warm fuzzyies between crews, or on the race course?. So he said, she said. Here was his last boat racing competition, he jumped the start and took to newbies with him, my Sanger took first, wife 2nd and the #1 boat third! Nice weekend at Tastin Racin in Seattle with NINETEEN FLATS IN COMPETITION IN ONE CLASS. Nostalgia!

Hey AZ, the #1 Wickens was Fred Wichens personal long deck racer that had not seen water for its 37 year lifespan until this race! Featured a home made V-drive gearcase, balsa floors, and strut 32" forward! Of course Fred made all his hardware, incredible man! This boat sits comfortably in a heated shop waiting for me to complete its new engine and maybe we will run it at Burley.....
