So what are the rules for a Nostalgia flatbottom? I would like to have a copy for a new driver.

Welcome Marc
Our former inspector wants to know whats been added, or what's been thrown out?
I can say for sure, NO CAST Rudders & props! Magnafluxing on underwater gear, cut resistant suits with sleeves. We used to require shaft releases for the fast class but now all the boats left are fast and some dont have them! This needs addressing.
We should have a new slate of class representatives for 2010. Possibly some work will get done on a corrected list. Oh and AOF updated helmets. Should know more after the banquet Nov 14. Your guy could call....

rules
I 'am just looking for the the 2010 rules because I will be rigging the boat to run nostalgia. And would like to tell the driver what he will need to be legal. he is a current drag boat racer. So he had some of the safety stuff, but I know he will need more. I also would like the boat to be legal.

Now is the time....
If you guys want to add/delete and/or change things within your classes. Now is the time. You need to write up your proposal and submit it to a commisioner before the national meeting. All rules changes (etc) have to be done at the national meeting.
Since it is in Moses Lake,WA you could also drive on down and see how the process works and add input about your topic when the time arises. Not sure of the exact dates and times, but it should be around the date of the banquet.

Marc
I phoned you with Robins number, I think she has a 2005 list in word on HER puter. This set differentiated between the fast class and the Ski class for a more accurate list of safety features tailored to the boats we had currently running. It would give you the basics. However, E-Motion has the latest version and isnt responding. You there Dave, Levi? You are still our class representatives until Nov 14th. Would you advise him to wait?
Whose going to the Nationals to represent us?

Problem solved
Marc purchased a 1976 Schiada from a drag boat family in Moses Lake. They used to drag at Cascade Park instead of circle in the Eastern part of our state but thats in the past, 1999. This rare circle boat is being restored these last 5 years (seems longer huh) in Eugene.
What's interesting to me is his new driver is another convert! His three point drag hydro is now for sale! Columbia Drag Boat Club still operates in Oregon affiliated with International Hot Boat Racing Association.
Welcome to the thrill of a 3-5 mile endurance race! At my age, it can be quite redeeming when an old coot (jerk) messes up the start and you have a few miles to gather it all in pushing to the front.
:xmastree: now all I need is a new RAT under the tree! Or, maybe take next year off.......

Levi and Dave
Levi and Dave went to Seattle last week end to receive an award at the Region 10 APBA banquet. Levi is the 2009 Pro Stock Region 10 High Points Champion. Dave also had trouble with his computer , this may be the reason he hasn't responded. Anyone in the Spokane Area should go over to Bill's Heli-arch and check out the large traveling trophy Levi has for a year. Congratulations to the 34 boat and it's driver , Levi Weber.

Wow, thats great. Also a congratulations to the boats owner, who likes to remain anonymous, but may have just posted this information.
Just spoke to Thee Jerk last night. Seems he's scoring a little bling to replace the gap between the intake and carbs. Look forward to what this stuff could be bringing next season.sigpic
