  • NBRA Nats THANKS!!!

THANKS!!! To all who drove ungodly hours to get there, to all who
made a great weekend of safe racing (even "Crash Mackey"), to all
who put up with Oklahoma's hot weather, to all who helped with set
up and tear down, to all who jumped in and made it work despite the
firing of the original promotors... to all who pulled extra duty
because some of the original "crew" couldn't be there.... it was a
good weekend and a great time together.

The records will be posted as soon as we can get them assembled and
    uploaded.

Now... we look forward to having as many of you back in OK as
possible (when it's a heckuva lot cooler) for the National Meeting
at the Cherokee Casino about 5 miles east of the Tulsa Airport on
U.S. 412. There's a lot to consider and a new slate of officers to
    approve by that time.

We've still got several races to go this year so keep 'em right side
up and out of the way of other drivers, and we'll have a good confab
    in Tulsa in November.

Dan: Sorry I couldn't make it. I was actually hoping your August date would fall through (for my own selfish reasons) so I could come race with you guys in early Fall. Maybe next year. Hopefully we can start scheduling our dates so that more cross-overs will occur in the future. I know a lot of APBA guys wanted to come to some of your events but couldn't due to the number of existing races.

Glad to hear your Nats went well. Ed.

We had a good event, but could have used some more boats. I know next year with the Mods in early July and the Stocks in early August that maybe NBRA could find a suitable date and we could get some participation from APBA members. I think there will be some NBRA people that do come to Zanesville to make it a great race. We will have to see who bids and try to get the best date to get the greatest amount of participation.

        Nats

While at the Nats Shelbyville Il, called Keith and said they wanted to bid the Short Course Nats for 07. $4500.00 Prize and tow money. Alan Owens has already said that Centralia Il. will bid for the Nats next year with even more money than the last time.

Ed, thanks for the comments. We look forward to more combined events that draw a lot of boats on the beach.

I think this could be some great races. We really need to plan early on the dates and be coordinated with everyone in the area. Because of the central location of these sites, we should have a lot of entries and great racing.

                Good COmpetition

There were plenty of boats there, more would have made it more exciting as it always does. I believe only a couple classes fell short of the required min of 5 boats to qualify for a Nat title. One of those being the 40CI D class, which has not been a class in APBA for a long time.

I had a blast racing all those classes, and even got some cash for my troubles. I think I spent it all on water !!! Not beer !!! It was hot. I think Dad had some fun as well despite the heat and call. Our relatives showed up from Tulsa area and helped us pit, man were they a life saver in that heat !!!

The cool thing was, we were done racing by 4:00 PM each day, and Sunday we were done at I htink 3:00 PM or earlier. How is that for getting you on the road home at a decent hour !! Excellent job NBRA. I love the class structures, it seems to work well.

One highlight was seeing the Tahotsu D Stocker kicking some butt in the 40 CI DMH class. YAHOO !!! Go Tahatsu !! I think Jeff got a 2nd overall with it. Oh yeah, no one had any of those gay "No Tahatsu" stickers either.

I hope IL next year is cooler than Ok was this year ! See yall at the races !!

Dave, thanks for making the trip. As always, it's a pleasure to see you and your dad at our races. You're good folks and good competition (even though you did whine all weekend about the heat!!! ha ha)

Always nice to have Michiganders dabbling in the thick waters of the southwest! (Only difference in Oklahoma water and Jello Instant Pudding is the pudding eventually sets up.)

                      I am Sure

You can find a sticker from someone at Dayton this weekend. Plaster it on your boats and trailer, I am sure it will be a big hit over there.
