As the first day of testing took place at Claremore, trailers continued to flow into the pit area and drivers took to the water to find the right prop and setup for the long course nationals. The one mile course is well laid out and will test the metal of many a driver with speeds naturally up with that size course, so it should be interesting to see who can close that throttle all the way around.
Doc and Rick Miller are tireless in their efforts to put racing on the map here in Oklahoma and we applaud them for the work they do. This is the 3rd National event for them, Depue, Hinton, and now Claremore. Wears me out thinking about it.
The race site is beautiful and provides great spectator viewing areas from the starting line up to and beyond the first turn, so hopefully we will draw from a large community here in Claremore. I know this, a lot of work has been done to make this a great national event.
More tonight as we will run at least 3 classes today with a new to NBRA as it is old to the USTS, a 3 heat format, which will crown an individual champion in the class. We may run a few more, as weather is rearing its ugly head for later in the weekend.
