My over-whelming personality is the prime example of a non-biased attitude..
So far,, I am a non-racing person,, but for those of you that know me,, my heart is
always in the best interest of boat racing. I guess I could join and then make myself
available to help with the ballots. I do have a runabout bought,,, but no motor as
of yet... Am in a state of limbo.. As of right now,,, I could easily sell this boat and
concentrate on being an official for the NBRA.. And my heart would still have boat racing's best interest..

Thank you that was the answer to my earlier question. Where they supposed to be secret ballots.

No one has answered where it says the ballots had to be signed, so how did folks know they needed to sign each page? I only saw the return address portion.

          Teresa,

On the current ballot, it only said that your return address had to be on the envelope. Hope this answers your question.

Basically it boils down to trying and keep honest people honest within voting on class rules. Mike, unfortuantely, your situation would eliminate you from voting if you scored zero points, even though you actively run the class. There has to be a line drawn somewhere on who gets to vote, and it will not be 100% error free, that would be hard to achieve. Not perfect, but probably the most fair way to handle it.

Personally I think three race weekends should be required to vote on tech rules within a class. This would prove a drivers intnet on that class, and probably with that many races would give that driver a much more balanced opinion based on experiences that season.

I think if I were counting ballots and recieved 2 ballots postmarked Missoula Mt.I am pretty sure I would have very good idea who mailed those ballots as well as a lot of others just by going to the directory in the rule book. So much for secret ballots. Personally I think the system we use now works, just needs to be refined, and be part of the by-laws. That way it would be done same every year.

so if you pay entree fee and race that class (and are slow)you basically remain a nobody.thats why the top stay the top.Main reason why we quit.

                Voting

If you had signed up and ran a class no matter where you finish if you finish you score points, if you score points in that class you get a vote. No matter whether finish 1st or last.

The racing commission will be meet at some point this racing season and go over the ballot procedure. After they come to a decision as to how they want to do this, it will go to ballot for all the membership to vote on. If it passes it will become a bylaw. In the meantime if you have a proposal that concerns this issue contact someone on the Race Commission. Please use this procedure if you want to be heard.
                  Thanks Art Kampen VP NBRA
