  • Montana NBRA Race Aug 24th 25th and 26th

We just got back from the NBRA Nationals and what a blast..These guys are good and fast..If you want to see how you really stack up especially in C,D, E and SE mod classes you must come to Montana the last weekend of August..

The plan is for testing on Friday..Friday evening is the boat show next to the highway.. Peoples choice will get $100.. Saturday morning at 8 will be the drivers meeting with straightaway runs from 9-11 on a 1/8 on Saturday and 1/4 straightaway runs on Sunday.. Racing will start at one both days.. I will say that the coarse will be about 7/8s of a mile approx..

Saturday night will be the family BBQ with upgrades avaliable.. Sunday evening after racing and clean up awards will be presented at the Lakeside Motel with full bar and casino.

There will be tow money so keep track of your mileage to the race from your home..

    Dont miss this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      Crossover to NBRA Classes

This is the best I can come up with as for how to explain our classes to others from other racing groups. NBRA class listed first followed (=) by APBA classes that fit/or engines. There are other engines allowed in each of these classes as well. I would reference the NBRA website and rule book to see where your engine fits. This is just for a quick glance. hope it is helpful.

      Novice Hydro/Runabout = Restricted Yamato 80/102
      A Runabout = A Mod./250cc Mod. Runabout, Stock Y80 and Restricted 102
      A Hydro = A Mod./250cc Mod. Hydro, 20SS Hydro
      B Runabout = B Mod./350cc Mod. Runabout, C Stock Runabout, Merc 25XS
      B Hydro = B Mod./350cc Mod. Hydro, 25 Mod./400cc Mod. Hydro, 25SS Hydro
      C Runabout = C Mod./500cc Mod. Runabout
      C Stock Hydro = C Stock Hydro
      C Modified Hydro = C Mod./500cc Mod. Hydro
Modified 25 Hydro = C Mod./500cc Mod. Hydro (Check rules for the differences between CMH and M25H)
      D Runabout = D Stock Runabout, 40ci Mod Merc.
      D Hydro = D Stock Hydro, 40ci Mod Merc.
      E Runabout = D Mod./750cc Mod. Runabout
      E Hydro = D Mod./750cc Mod. Hydro
Super E Runabout = Formula E/850cc Mod. Runabout
Super E Hydro = Formula E/850cc Mod. Hydro

Once again. I sure hope this helps. The NBRA website is http://www.racenbra.net

No problem at all. Yeah... it's a no go for me sadly still. Was pondering it if I could somehow find a ride up that way. But... work needs me to to work some over time that week and I can't afford to tell them no. I really do wish I could be a part of it. Keep us unlucky ones posted on all of the happenings will ya?

Thats to bad..I though if it was just a issue of nothing to drive when you got here I would offer you my boat if you dont mind laying down but since it is a work issue that sucks..Maybe next year..

I certainly appreciate the offer. That really means a lot. If the offer ever comes about again... I may take you up on that. I have always been curious about running a lay down rig.

Mike, Just so your NW guys know, a cmod is a legal 25 mod just the way it is. no restrictor. the diff is 25 mod can run any gear and cmod cannot run open exhaust on a Yamato. Also, Stock 44's can run D. I encourage all to reference our class structure on our website

A little update, be prepared cause the weather is typical for this time of the year.. Day time temps are right at 100 and night time temps around 49-55 so bring some sweatshirts.. We are know for our temp swings but it makes for good sleeping after a hot day and Trout Creek is know for their human anti-freeze if you still need warming up

                        Won't be Long

Can't wait to get over there and warm up ! Been cold in MI lately. Highs a few days were only in the 50's. Currently it is pleasant with highs of around 72 - 75. Lows in the upper 50's to low 60's. And sunny. Well today is forcasted a big storm this afternoon.

Mom & Dad are heading out Sunday Afternoon, the should be there Wedensday if they don't take a lot of extra time sight seeing, other than what they already have planned. I will be there Thursday late afternoon. Plane gets into Glacier Nat Park at 1:30 if all goes well. Looking forward to it.

There will be enough ER's to race. We did a head count. Enough of us are heading out to have a class in case there is not enough out west. Watch out though, there will be a real suprise in one of the ER rigs.... wait and see.

Hope everyone hauls out the DH's too, I love to watch the Merc of the Mac Attack scream around the Tahotsu's. Hehehehe. Sounds like a challange to me. So everyone haul out the boats in the basement, dust off the cobwebs and bring it all to Montana !!

Latest weather is 90-100 temps for the day and 50-60 at night..You should get warmed up but we have no humidity!!

We are scrapping the new boat for now so I will run D and E if we have time for a motor change both days

On the way home we did more sight seeing than we should of and we were late getting home..Hope your folks dont have the same problem getting to the race..
