  • Long Course Nationals Officials/Info

    NBRA is looking forward to running its 2011 Long Course Nationals on Choctaw Lake near McAlester, Okla. Sept. 8-11. Choctaw Lake (also known as Talawanda Lake) is on Choctaw Indian land and the Choctaw Tribe and the City of McAlester have been cooperating to make this an enjoyable venue for kneel down boat racers.

    The race includes sponsorship from McAlester area businesses and the RFA Ethanol Challenge contingency program.

    Race Director Matt Johnson has listed the following officials:
    Referee: Jack Stotts
    Inspector: Jeff Ruth
    Asst. Inspectors: Dudley Malone, Ken Parks
    Weigh Master: Pete Erickson
    Chief Scorer: Patsy Ruth
    Prize/Tow Money (TBA)

    Certificates given on site: Trophies awarded at National meeting, Nov. 4, KCI Holiday Inn, Kansas City.

    Schedule is:
    Thursday...Set up. NO TESTING
    Friday...Registration and Testing
    Saturday...Registration 8 a.m., Drivers Meeting 9 a.m., Racing begins at 10 a.m.
    Sunday...Racing begins 10:30 a.m.

    Do you have directions to the race site from Hwy 69?

      All please note the the start times have been moved up considerably from what was posted in the NBRA News Letter. Plan accordingly! I would recommend that one should try to get registered on Friday. With the drivers meeting at 0900 on Sat we will be stretched to get everything done if there a lot of late registrations. Jack

        Directions to Lake Choctaw/Talawanda #1

        These are the directions as provided in the NBRA Newsletter: From the intersection of US-69 and US-270 go West on East Carl Albert Pkwy (US-270)-2.4 Miles
        Turn Right on N. West Street and proced 1.4 Miles
        Turn Right onto Reed Street and go 469 Feet.
        Take first Left onto N. Talawanda Street/Talawanda Heights and go .3 Miles
        Continue onto E. 1418 Road/W. Ridge Avenue and go .4 miles.
        Turn Right onto D4060 Road and go 1.6 Miles. You will see lake on Right. Turn Right at signs. Jack

          I am happy you will be on the stand. I always love it when you get us in line. And you have to make one promise. YOU set the course up. You set some real nice courses.

          I promise to be in formation waiting command.

            Oh great! Jack has some command!? I feel he will now attempt to make me cut my hair at some point on the weekend if we are able to make it over. Lol.
