  • IMPORTANT: Roll Call - Somerville, TX NBRA - May 7-8, 2011

Our local sponsor, the Burleson County Chamber of Commerce, really has the details in order for the Lone Star Outboard Shootout: $2,000 tow money (plus an additional $1,500 tow money from the Ethanol Series for a total of $3,500 tow money!), ambulance, TPWD officers on the water, and local law enforcement to control traffic at the ramp. The only thing missing is US.

If you only reply to one roll call thread this year, let it be this one!!! It will also save us from making additional phone calls later this week.

To start, I've cobbled together info from a couple threads on HR and the NBRA site, and will correct as necessary:

    Hydros
    AH: van Weele, Braxton Miller
    BH: Rick Miller (Sunday)
CSH: Gardner Miller, Mathews, Braxton Miller, Rick Miller (Sunday)
25MH: Mathews, Barfield, Rick Miller (Sunday)
CMH: Hauenstein, van Weele, Mathews, Barfield, Rick Miller (Sunday)
DH: Kampen, Crummett, Ruth, Hauenstein, van Weele, Mathews, Barfield
EH: Kampen, Mason, Hauenstein, van Weele, Mathews
    SEH: Ruth, Mathews, Barfield, Hoefs

    Runabouts
    DR: Kampen, Hauenstein, Mathews
ER: Kampen, Mason, Ruth, Hauenstein, Mathews, Hoefs
    SER: Mathews?

I will add classes to the list as they become populated. Testing Friday, racing Saturday and Sunday.

Thank you on behalf of LSORA!

    Going to Texas

We should be there if all goes well. I expect that we should run A MOD, C MOD, D stock and D MOD.

C'mon who's brave enough to race the shootout?

I know more racers are coming to this event than have posted here.
It sure would be great to give our sponsors some big numbers for the show.

Hey this is Texas where everything is done BIGGER right? There is the festival with great food, Live Music, entertainment, good pits, TOW MONEY, and it is an NBRA series event.

This can be a growing event for Texas and part of the re-birth of racing here. In a time when we are losing race sites, we have the chance to build on a new one with sponsorship money. I hope anyone who can make it to Texas will! COME AND RACE TEXAS

                  Pits

Looking at Google earth it appears this will be a great race site. I would like to know where the pits are. I assume close to the boat launching ramp at Welch park. Our intent is to arrive Thursday evening. Will this be an issue for our RV and race trailer? Hopefully we get a great turnout and have some great racing. Looking forward to seeing everyone again for the new race year.

The parking spots for camping in Welch Park are slightly to the West of the race course and just west of the launch ramp. The park entry control booth assigns camping spaces and collects the fees. The race course runs to the East of the launch ramp with the 1st turn down at the end of the bay and the second turn just East of the launch ramp. Last year we ran about a .8 mile course. Jack

                        Perfect

Jack, when you set up a course I know it will be a pleasure to ride around.

I can't wait to get there !! It has been a VERY long time since I raced in TX.
