  • July NBRA Races in ILinois

JULY 18th one day race at Dallas City Il.$2000.00 prize & tow money. This race is part of the Dallas City anniversary ceebration. Lots of other things to do if you want spend the weekend. The race site is a oxbow off of the Missisippi River, protected water very similar to Quincy Bay. We all know how good that site is. Large ramp area for the pits and launching. Should be a good payout for those attending. Most probably will be fewer than 12 classes. Will run any NBRA class that three legal boats. Some classes may be combined. Contact Keith Kampen 314 497 2502 for lodging or further details.
July 25 26 Havana IL. $1600.00 prize & tow money. This race last year drawed one of the biggest crowds I have ever seen at a boat race. Plus a ton of media exposure. Starting time on Sat. will be 3:00 pm as per sponsors request. Sun. stating time is Noon, should be done by 4:00 pm. Location is downtown Havana at the waterfront park. Large paved pit area and ramps for launching. Last year on Sat we had a issue with boat traffic. On Sun the Coast Guard & river patrol changed tactics and solved th problem. They have said they will improve that this year. Also have permission to move course up river if we need to. Will run any NBRA class that has 3 legal boats. Some classes may be combined.

    Test Time

Just a added note because of the 3:00 pm start time on Sat. at Havana You will have most probably have 4 hrs. of valuable test time. Something really hard to find in the middle of the season.

        "NBRA Illinois Races"

Its been 30+ years so we'll need the extra test time if for nothing else to blow the dust off. Looking forward to seeing and racing with you guys again.

            Silas,

Found a Y80 gearcase for my 20ci Mod merc so your prop will do double duty. I will let you know what the results are. The excitement is building to finally get back to mod racing. If I read the schedule right we have 3 back to back weekends of Illinois racing starting the 18th of July.Thank you ODA and NBRA.

The sound of all those mod engines screaming at once, I can't wait.

Don't forget the NBRA Long Course Nat's in Centralia and the Short COurse Nat's in Shelbyville as well ! Two of the nicest sites I have been too.

Who knows, might be a big black trailer in some of the local races in July.

                Dallas city

Looking for info about the Dallas city race:
                Address?
                What time for driver's meeting?
                is testing allowed?
any legal fuel in the area? Or "fuel of the day"?
I looked on the NBRA site and couldn't find anything.
                Thanks.

The race is being help at the public boat ramps on the river right in downtown. The drivers meeting will be held at 11:00 AM and racing will start at 12:00pm. Testing will be allowed from 10:00 until 11:00 as long as course is set up. We will not be testing fuel at this race. Hope to see you there.
