Rockaway and Dennis Please Remember

To All attending Rockaway Beach Race:

Please take a minute or two to remember our Dennis. He died there 10 years ago on June 12.

The Payn family and his fiance Lori, and Ryan and Tanner Warner will all be together. Flowers will be placed on his grave. We promise not to cry, but that will be a promise not kept, I am sure.

If anyone has some bright flowers, please place them in the water, especially in the FE/SE class.

Dennis, we still love you and think about you every day. Maybe someone will spot a rainbow this week end and then we will know you are trying to make us all feel better.

I still wear my AOF TShirt that honors Dennis with a 12X on the sleeve. I bought three of them at the Nat's that year so I could have one nice one all the time. While I was not in Rockaway Beach this last weekend, your post made me remember him this past weekend. He was a super nice guy, and pretty sharp on the OMC engines. He is missed.

Thank you all for the emails and posts. We had a good week end. Peaceful. Nice to finally get there. Lori, Dennis' fiance was here and that was comforting. Burt Hoefs (my best friend) said he was taking care of the arrangements in Rockaway. I am sure it was touching.
Time goes on and things do have a way of healing our sorrows.
We just have to remember to appreciate each other along the way.
