The Canon Award

The canon award is given away each year to the high point driver in just one class. Who ever had the most points in one class, and can only win 2 years in a row and then must sit out a year. It is a very nice trophy that Dick Falbe made. The canon has been used for many years for starting the races but has been retired. I think it is a neat deal and wanted to share it with the racing world.

The one collage is always covered and sold in the white elephant sale. It usually brings about $50. This year Maggie bought it for Burt, it was his birthday!!

ODA Cannon award

The ODA Cannon award is one of the prettiest in all of boat racing. I was very proud of the fact that I have been able to win it once. I think this year was Kevin's third time winning it.

ODA Banquet

The Cannon is a great asset that the ODA has, Dick enjoyed refinishing the cannon and making this beautiful trophy. When I had the award I put it in my office for display and it makes quite the conversation piece.
Kevin, the boat looks great and number two has moved from engineering into production. Of course thats all in the same room.

Great pics, and a great time! Thanks again to all of you. Special thanks to Linda and Kevin--sure was alot of work and planning for a real fun evening. That crowd there was the BAD INFLUENCE. I just went along with the tide. Anyway Brownie and I sure made a dent in that Makers Mark. Besides that- the providers of the booze were the real instigators. Seems like they attend all of the same boat races that we do. Thanks again. Hi AL!!!
