Well folks, this is the post that I did not want to have to make but reality has set in. Our April race will not take place.
The Marine Creek lake authority still has not given the final ok to use the lake. I had a verbal ok but then found out that the person I was dealing with had one more tier of authorization to get. Each time I have spoken with them over the past weeks I have been told a decision is 'just a few days away'. At this point we are well past having enough time to do this by April 25-26. It is also unlikely that we could simply move the date back even if we get final authorization as the ski club that leases the lake has informed me that they have no more 'open' dates for the remainder of this year.
But....this is not the end of this quest, only the beginning! I have other avenues that I am pursuing for later in the year. I will keep you all informed as I pursue those possibilities.
