  • Need 44 pistons

I am looking for two new three ring Mercury pistons with the small wrist pins to fix a motor that got to hot.. I knew something was not right so I shut it off before cylinder damage was done.. If anyone has them and is coming to the NBRA national meeting I can pick them up there

Let me know what you have

    Thanks

Hay J-Dub, ran out of big end rods, have plenty of 600-4 rods but no more of the new style. Can you spare 4 for spares for my 44 Mod's....Bob Rusnak

Bob, Are you referring to "Cracked" Style rods? Or traditional machined large pin rods?

J-Dub you should make an ad and put it on the 40/44 mod tech forum for folks looking for this harder to find stuff

We have been using Vertex pistons in 2 of our 44s high quality product motors run great. Contact Mike DeLisa at www. outboardparadise.com. They are also reasonbly priced. We also have another 44 with GLM pistons. Have not run this enough to make a recommedation yet. We have too many engines and not enough test time. I think we need to sell one.

Vertex pistons are the ones I used in my motor that kept sticking pistons.. Turns out the newer ones after the company was sold have issues.. The rings stick right around the pins that locate the ring gap even before installing so I am getting away from them..

I guess you guys have been lucky or they are the older versions
