I am looking for a good 3 or 4 blade prop for my Merc foot.. It has a 11/16 shaft and a 3/16 shear pin hole.. All of my props are 11/16 with a 1/4 shear pin hole.. I would of never bought this set up if I had been told the truth but I would like to make it work.. The only other thing I can do is get the hole in the foot shaft drilled to 1/4

Two holes in a prop are better then opening up the shaft hole.
Mike,
I believe that if you open up your prop shaft pin hole your asking for trouble. If your running a D or E MOD the reduction in area through the pin hole raises the net stress in that area enhancing fatigue cracking. I have seen a few folks loose props due to a failure in the pin hole.

Either Or
No big dilema, at all. Drill out your propshaft or drill out the props, like Larry said. Our gearcases have 1/4" hole and they did fine under the Mer gearcase. The Yamoto stuff, not so much. Go 1/4" and it will break, stick to 6MM max.
Here is prolly the easiest solution, buy the shear pins that Dudley Malone sells, they are the best I have ever used. There are the small hole. Dudley talked us into trying them on the SEH, and we are having no issues so far. Amazing what the right pin will do.
For the 3 blade that might be trouble, send it to a prop maker, they will drill it. A competent machinist can do it as well. Most use a lathe to cut it in.
Don't fret !! Easy fix. If you need to know what machinists I turst give me a P.m.Dave Mason

prop for my merc foot
I had trouble with shear pins until I bought some solid dowel pins. If you take them out of the box and install them they are too hard and will snap very easy, but if you heat them up until they start to turn a straw color and then let them cool naturally they become very malleable and super tough. They will bend but not break. Also very cheap especially when you buy a box of 100
