This July, off Sarasota FL, an attempt will be made to break the prop driven water speed record of 220mph set by Dave Villwock in Miss Budweiser in 2004. In an article in this months Pro BoatBuilder a 56' x 13'6" hull has been constructed powered by four Lycoming turbines.
Drive is by Arneson surface drives. Fuel consumption is expected to be 20 gallons/min at full throttle.
