  • Grand Prix Video from Cambridge

Here is video of GP-88 at Cambridge. The video is fairly large and might not load on slower internet connections. I can upload a lower quality version later if anyone is interested.

This is video of the first Sunday qualification heat for the GPs.

    Cambridge......................

We were there watching that race!! Kelly Shane was along side and is doing great.

The wildest flip was in the 5 litre final later in the day when one of the guys corkscrewed milling in turn one. He landed right side up and was OK............Cambridge is one of the longest running Inboard events in North America and years ago was a Region 4 Stock/PRO Outboard site but the rough water and jellyfish eventually took it's toll and we don't run outboards there anymore.

The event had thousands of spectators last weekend and some of the best funnelcakes in the south!

The GP's are definitely a great show! Watching 6 or 7 of those bad boys at 170 mph... you can feel the ground rumbling! Awesome!

        Cambridge Photos

There were more flips and "events" at Cambridge this year than I've ever seen before. Pakman -- did you get any of them on video? On Sunday a 2.5 Liter flipped over backwards and landed right side up, smack in front of the grand stand. The uninjured driver said that was the first time he'd ever flipped in 30 years of racing.

Ironically I didn't catch a single flip or incident with my camera -- my lens was always pointed in another direction. But as I've said before I'd rather catch drivers at their best instead of their worst. I think I got a few good photos but I won't have time or hard drive space to sort through them until later.

I have a good deal more video that I will try to get online. I think I missed just about every flip. I was always looking somewhere else or was not filming. I will probably post the skiffs next.
