Kristi, thanks for the encouragemant but I'm pushing 200 lbs and I think that is on the fat side for 125. I do think that would be a cool ride.

What's the status of 175R? I have been told its going to sort of be what RB runabout was.

      See ya at Jesup.

NO 175R.....175H is slowly catching on and I know a lot of guys are watching to see how it will do as many are interested. Some of the guys who are not ready to quit but maybe don't want to go 90+ mph anymore, and some who are ready to leave 125 but not quite ready for 90+mph.

          175H USTS and WORLDS

          Kristi,

Since the 0175H Worlds (with of course 0125H and 0250H) will be in Florida in
October 2008, would the USTS consider running 175H at ALL the USTS events
next year in 2008? Maybe 2 heats of a beach start to help the drivers get ready for the Worlds. 2 heats would not take up too much time for the program.

To help the 175H class grow my thoughts are that the USTS needs to have the class in it's program.

Best Regards. Please say hi to Chris and Curt for me.

          Thanks,
          sigpic

            Ahh Dean
That is can of worms that will be opened at the Fall meeting in November. The membership as well as the BOD is very divided on that very subject. It is clearly stated in the USTS rules and regs that we cannot add a class without taking away a class. We can add a special event class...i.e 1100R or OSY400 or 175H at pre-selected races which we plan at the meeting in the Fall.
There are some who feel strongly if the USTS does not add 175H it won't take off. There are some who feel strongly that 175 is the class of the future for the guys who want to hang around but slow downa bit and those who want to step up slowly. Many hold true to keep the program as is and we are not responsible for the growth of any classes not on our program or run the risk of eventually losing our show.
There is also a push from the capsule side of the house to try and grow it more and add more heats of capsules.
            Meeting will be FUN

I sent Kevin's engine home with Mike Schmidt. Kevin is running my boat in 125H and I will run my boat in 175H. That way he can get a taste of going fast in a good boat and I can help make the 175H class. Travis is now going on a Boy Scout camping trip so he will not be there.

CSH 4-Z #1763. David, you should come anyway. If you show, you can run my rig in 20ssH. It may not be fast, but I can pretty much guaruntee it will finish! Besides, I would love nothing more than to see you running a Stock Hydroplane!!

We will see, about getting there. No point in punishing a perfectly good 20ss by pushing my big butt around. I started in J stcok Hydro and I would not want to ruin those fond memories of getting pasted by less stock 60-J's. Besides, gasoline cost too much!

I remember the days when I ran 20ssH.....it sucked cause I had to put 80lbs of lead in the boat....no matter where we put the lead the boat was a squirrel
