  • How To Promote a Boat Race

I wanted to take amoment and point out how to promote a boat race. It is called NBRA. You seen the billboards they placed on highways in and in town for their Long Course Nationals in Centrallia. The coverage in newspapers, and sponsors..... Now look at the thread over on BRF for the short course Nat's.

Anyone want to say they don't know how to promote a boat race ?

I simply must tak emy hat off to the folks......... and say thank you for making boat racing better than it was.

Excellent work, to those that put the effort into this race. Dave, It's not the organization, but the people within it that make it successful. Thanks for showing that it can be done. We ALL need to step up and do whatever we can to grow & promote the sport.

Stock Outboard is all about a level playing field.

True parity is one motor per class.

It's RACING, not just another boat ride!

        Keith,

Yall have done a great job - AGAIN. I just don't see how you could have done any better at promoting this, or any, race.

I hope that there is a large turn out also.

            I agree John

But those people support both NBRA and NBRA. I know they go to the Region 7 races in APBA in hopes that the favor will be returned to them for their two races in IL........ lets hope the last few years pays dividends.

Again, Keith and all those involved, great job. Folks are seeing it on TV while watching their favorite program, KIP is seeing the ads in his magazines, y'all have it figured out. Keep up the good work and it will grow to be bigger than ever. Can you imagine the popularity of this race witht he spnsors if it got over 200 entries ? Might be able to get a ton more prize money..... that would be nice. It already pays to win at Shelbyville, last year I paid for all expenses and still had some beer money left over. Kind of nice at today's fuel prices.

Perhaps some others will learn from your efforts.

If we can get a good turnout this year the potential for this site is unlimited. We have a national corporate sponsor, and the most excited group of people I have ever dealt with. My phone rings daily with the question, What else can we do for the racers? Unfortunately with this much support comes some high expectations and if we do not deliver this year it will probably be the end of it all. If all the people who have said they are coming show up it will be a great race!!!!!!!!

The magazine the add was in is the Electric coop magazine. The electric coop is a Major sponser of this race. My hats off to them and all others that are sponsering and promoting the Shellbyville race.

I know there is a lot of Mod 40c.i. Mercs that need to be brought out of mothballs and raced at the NBRA Short Course Nationals. This is a class that races with the stock 44XS and the new Toe -Hot -Sue. The 44 Merc is in a class all by their self which we call E. I hope to see some new faces.
