"My helmet as a must make pin"? Isn't that the same excuse Captain Bob used with my dad when he ran him over? I gotta talk to my dad about designing a new helmet scheme.

Yep as soon as its done, I will be posting it everywhere on the internet.

I started work on a small animation for the Top O Logo thats gonna be used in the promo video at the beginning before the actual video starts. I just finished modeling the logo and the boat in my 3D program. Nothing has been textured so the 3D objects are all one color for right now.

APBA allows "antique" racing but I'm not sure how that plays in a Nationals event. Rule book states that "antiques" cannot compete for "national points" but doesn't say we can't race. Would the race committee consider adding a class for the Mark 20H? I'll gather up several others who I know would run again if we could run our old motors. All of us are current short course runabout racer's. This might be a great special event as part of the 60th anniversary..... we would be running 60 year old motors that first competed in the same race in 1958 ! Is their interest from other Mark 20H racers besides Steve Roskowski and me ? Mike Marshall, Raceboat61-S
MIKE, IF A SPECIAL EVENT STATUS COULD BE USED ,I THINK ALL THE OLD MOTORS WOULD BE A GREAT TRIBUTE TO THE RACE AND STOCK OUTBOARDING . IWILL CHECK INTO THIS THOUGHT FROM A RULE BOOK SITUATION . MIKE 51-M

Gee I dunno Josh, Pete didn't have any problem keeping his thoughts to himself when it happened to him!

(Just giving you a hard time Nick. Congratulations on your Top O' win!)
I was too far behind to even SEE nick, much less get passed by him!

Jeff...I love that video clip...and I know your just joking. On a serious note though Jeff...You should be very proud of coming to Top O as a rookie and finishing both days. That is an accomplishment that many racers work very hard at. I think you did a great job and I hope you come back and race with us guys anytime you want....Nick.

The older motors can be ran under the Stock Classic Division (Rule #24 in the rule book) http://www.apba-racing.com/Forms/2007/007SOMOPROJ.pdf

                            Hey Nick,

Hows it goin dude? Pass along a thank you to your dad on copying the videos for me. I've already started transfering the footage to my computer.

I went and chit chatted with Wayne earlier today and showed him the trailer video and he's really impressed with it so thats all good.

The old video footage of the race is just awesome to watch.

                                Hey guys,

The video editing is coming along great. I've gone through and selected the clips that I like from the old boat race footage and have edited them into one cohesive montage video of racing from the past. I've got more content to add such as the aerial footage and Pete's helmet cam video as well as some footage from this year. I've also went through and textured the modeled race boat. I still got some tweaking to do in terms of the rounded edges on the backside of the boat. I'm gonna start modeling the an Evinrude engine. I'm still working on the animated Top O logo, which I think ya'll will like once its all completed.

I'm going to try and get in contact with some prospective companys on the possibility of sponsoring the race. I'll keep ya posted on that. Over the weekend, I've sent an email to the advertising sector of the Speed Channel website. I explained what it is we are trying to do and have sent them a link to the trailer video that I posted on youtube. If I don't hear from someone in the next couple of days I'm going to contact them again. So hang in there guys
