  • Moses Lake ... HydroRacer.net

Just an observation ... noticed that several days have passed since the 2007 SO Champions were crowned and not a word on the APBA website. But, I was able to receive information/results while I was in the pits (thanks Ed H.) on Hydroracer as events were unfolding even before many people in the pits (without access to Hydroracer) had the information.

For what it's worth ... Hydroracer is relevant! It's information is timely ... and it has become far more than a place for the lunatic fringe to vent!

Thanks Dan for keeping this valuable resource available.

Thanks Ryan for your hard work keeping the Oberto Nationals website updated ... I know it took a lot of time and effort ... what a great idea!

Just goes to show you what people working together can accomplish.

    Thanks Dan!

Hydroracer is a vital part to the racing community. A big thanks to Dan who puts in so much time and effort into the site. Where would Stock Outboard be without it? Or those of us who couldn't go to the Nationals?

    THANKS DAN!!

Just an observation ... noticed that several days have passed since the 2007 SO Champions were crowned and not a word on the APBA website.
If you want to use it, the APBA website is ready every day to post your results - that goes for all the different categories/series/classes as well. When Fred Miller sent the Trenton results (yes, even by Fax) the results were up within 15 minutes. Some groups use it a lot but others don't use it at all and I have no idea why.

All that needs to be done is for the race officials to send the info to news@apba-racing.com just like always.

If nothing is sent to the site coordinator, then you won't get the publicity you deserve. If it matters to you to want to see your sport promoted on your own national site..... then encourage your race committees to submit the info.

I sit and wait every day - hoping to help any racing class/series/category promote their sport - just like I always have - I'm even waiting late on most Sunday nights too, because that's when many of the categories send their press releases out. I can usually post them ASAP.

There are just too many individual sites these days that I can't possibly visit them all to find results or info. So here's the address to email your data to:

          news@apba-racing.com

Send it and I'll post it. Nobody hates seeing lack of publicity/promotion of this great sport more than me. So if you don't see your race results on the APBA site - its only because nobody sent it in.

Thanks Val ... you are absolutely correct. It's not your job to go out and fish the multitude of powerboat racing related websites hoping to find something relevant to APBA members and the public to post. It's up to the membership to provide you content consistent with the purpose of the APBA website.

My post was not meant in any way to be critical of APBA or your difficult job ... rather, simply to point out that Hydroracer.net has become a relevant resource of information for a growing number of folks that follow the sport. In my opinion, the APBA website needs to remain apolitical and non-controversial leaving the rants, raves and unofficial ramblings to a more appropriate, user friendly venue.

Thank you!!! It's okay to be critical, I just wanted to let everyone know that I do want to see more posted on the APBA site. I once even made my husband drive to a mountain top so we could get cell phone signal while on vacation in Yellowstone... just to make sure there wasn't anything that needed posting ASAP. That's no kidding!

Yes, I love Hydroracer.net too. I think Dan and this site have done a fabulous job bringing together all the "family" members that make up Stock/Pro/Mod and even some other groups too. The discussions often have so many VERY in-depth details you won't ever see on any press release, that's for sure! It's also a great tool for sharing/divulging/getting feedback on issues etc. Dan has just done a terrific job.

But I'd love so much to have some press release-type stuff over on the APBA News page so that the other categories can see all the fun you guys & gals are having. (I can also plug Hydroracer.net whenever you want me to....).

We've got current and ex-racers from OPC, Offshore, Inboard, SLT, and Vintage and others going to the APBA News page to read the latest from headquarters, so wouldn't it be cool if they could read about the SO or Mod or Pro events over there too? What do you think? Can we do it? I'm always ready & willing to help any category expand - even if its just by a few members at time..

Email me if you've got something to put up there - I'll be here most of the night as I'm working on posting some APR pictures right now... news@apba-racing.com

              Thanks again!

I'll echo Neal with a big thanks to Ryan. I knock out the monthly SOA newsletter and every year finding enough info for a quick summary just after Nationals is a "Pin The Tail On The Donkey" sort of hell.

This year Ryan was pounding out daily updates, and I was able to pull off final results within a day of the show's end to finish up Pit Previews.

For comparison's sake I had to ferret privately for Nationals results in my own category because the USTS site's still floundering around in late June.

                Great bit of work Ryan....Thanks!
